AGE CONCERN ESSEX Home Support Service provides paid workers to do housework, shopping and pension collecting for older people living in their own homes. For most of our clients it is just that little extra help they need to enable them to carry on living independently, in comfort and with dignity.

The work is extremely rewarding; our workers are much more than just cleaners, they become friends and provide a much-needed social contact to people who otherwise could become very lonely and isolated.

A CHARGE IS MADE FOR THIS SERVICE AND THE MINIMUM VISIT IS ONE HOUR.

The service that we are able to provide includes:

Well-Being

• bed changing
• ironing
• shopping

Health

• collecting prescriptions
• bathroom cleaning
• kitchen cleaning
• vacuuming

Hygiene

• laundry
• defrosting fridges
• cleaning cookers

Security

• bill paying
• cleaning windows (inside)
• pension collecting (not if with a card and PIN number)

Comfort

• social contact
• dusting
• polishing
